Overview

VibeTerm ("the App") is an iOS SSH terminal client for remotely connecting to Claude Code sessions running on macOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

1. Data We Collect

VibeTerm stores configuration data locally on your device for SSH connections and terminal operations.

Location Data Details

Location sharing is an optional feature that is disabled by default. When enabled by the user:

Location data is sent only to the user's own Mac on their local network
No location data is sent to cloud servers or third-party services
Location data is not stored persistently on the device
Background location updates are used only when explicitly enabled by the user
Updates are throttled (minimum 60-second interval) to conserve battery

2. Network Communication

VibeTerm connects to your Mac via SSH and HTTP for terminal operations, session monitoring, and optional location sharing.

Data Transmitted:

SSH connection credentials (public key authentication)
Terminal input/output (encrypted via SSH)
WebSocket messages for session status updates
HTTP requests for session API queries
Location telemetry via HTTP POST to your Mac (optional, local network only)

Data NOT Transmitted:

Personal information
Usage analytics
Diagnostic data
Data to external/cloud servers

Important: All connections are made directly between your iPhone and Mac (via local network or Tailscale VPN). No data passes through third-party servers.

3. Third-Party Services

We do NOT use:

Analytics tools
Advertising networks
Crash reporting services
Cloud storage services

4. Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your device:

SSH Host Information: Stored in SwiftData
SSH Keys: Stored in iOS Keychain (secure enclave)
App Settings: Stored in UserDefaults
Chat History: Stored locally in SwiftData
Location Data: Not stored; transmitted in real-time and discarded

5. Permissions

6. Data Deletion

You can delete your data at any time:

Individual Host: Swipe to delete in the host list
SSH Keys: Delete in Settings → SSH Key
Location Sharing: Disable in Settings → OpenClaw
All Data: Uninstall the app

7. Security

We implement the following security measures:

ED25519 SSH key authentication (stored in iOS Keychain)
Encrypted SSH connections (industry-standard encryption)
Local data storage only (no cloud sync)
Location data transmitted only over local network

8. Children's Privacy

VibeTerm is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Policy Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated without prior notice. Significant changes will be notified within the app.
